Special Trains to Facilitate Pilgrims for Puri Yatra

Visakhapatnam, July 7, 2013: Special trains will be operated to Puri in connection with ‘Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra’ (Gundicha yatra) on July 10 and for the ‘Suna vesha of Rath Yatra’ on July 20. The special trains will be run between Visakhapatnam and Puri and Gunupur and Puri, according to a statement issued by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager M. Yelvender Yadav.

The Visakhapatnam-Puri Special will leave Visakhapatnam at 2 p.m. on July 9 and reach Puri at 1:40 a.m. (early hours of July 10), the Gunupur-Puri Special will leave Gunupur at 8:45 p.m. on July 9 and reach Puri at 7:30 a.m. on July 10, the Puri-Gunupur Special will leave Puri at 3:45 p.m. on July 10 and reach Gunupur at 1:30 a.m. (early hours of July 11) and the Puri – Visakhapatnam Special will leave Puri at 12:15 a.m. (midnight) on July 10 and arrive in Visakhapatnam at 9:30 a.m. on the same day.

The Visakhapatnam – Puri Special will leave Visakhapatnam at 6 a.m. on July 19 and reach Puri at 4:45 p.m. the same day and the Puri – Visakhapatnam Special will leave Puri at 1:30 a.m. on July 19 (early hours of July 20) and arrive in Visakhapatnam at 1 p.m. on the same day.

These specials will run as passenger trains and stop at each and every station in between the above destinations.

Train no. 58418/58417 Gunupur-Puri-Gunupur passenger and no. 58419/58420 Palasa-Gunupur-Palasa passenger train will be cancelled on July 10 and train no. 17479 Puri – Tirupati Express will be rescheduled to leave Puri on July 10 at 1:15 p.m. instead of the scheduled departure of 12:25 p.m.
