Philologist Bestowed with ‘Sri Kala Purna’

Anantapur, July 7, 2013: Philologist and author of many an award winning treatise in Telugu and other languages Korada Mahadeva Sastry was conferred the title ‘Sri Kala Purna’ by the Sri Annamacharya Project of North America (SAPNA) for his exemplary work in the literary world.

Mr. Korada Mahadeva Sastry, disciple of one of the famous philologists of the country and former president of the Sahitya Academy Suniti Kumar Chatterjee, was the first one to bring out a treatise on the historical grammar of the Telugu language in an effluent commentary of the progress of Telugu as a language over the centuries.

Plea to teachers

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sastry made a fervent plea to the teachers of Telugu language at the elementary and high school level to pass on the true taste of the Telugu language.
