U.P. Commissions Coordination Officer to Work with U’khand Authorities for Flood Rescue & Relief
LUCKNOW, July 6, 2013: In order to improve its efforts to trace pilgrims of the state who went missing in Uttarakhand after the deluge last month, Uttar Pradesh government has appointed its coordination officer who will work with the relief commissioner of flood-hit state.
Additional Commissioner Saharanpur S B Tewari has been made the coordination officer of the state and would be camping in Dehradun to trace the missing persons from the state
"The state has given a list of 156 names missing from the state, though information of the those missing received at various ends like police control room and others was being tallied," an official said.
So far districts have received information about 200 missing persons, police control room about 786 people, relief commissioner of 814 people and home control about 192 persons and their names and other details are being matched to prepare a final list, the official said.
DMs have been asked to provide the details of those who had gone to Uttarakhand and those who have not returned or are missing, he added.
