Indian Cultural Day at the Ashland Farmers Market

Ashland, Framingham, july 3, 2013: The Ashland Farmers Market, in conjunction with the Ashland Cultural Council, will host Indian Cultural Day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 125 Main Street.

The event will highlight India’s culture with special programs and vendors. Children can have their names written in Sanskrit and receive henna tattoos from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Kids' Corner. Young instrumentalists and dancers will perform classical Indian music and dance from Southern India from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Old North Music Stage.

Throughout the day at the Community Table, Kumar Nochur of Ashland’s Sri Lakshmi Hindu Temple will share details of the temple’s architecture and cultural activities. Chef Renita Mendonca of Seasoned and Spiced will offer tastings of Indian cuisine, and Flats Mentor Farm with offer Asian vegetables
