Students of a city school are doing their bit to help families living on the coastline and the Uttarakhand flood victims
For families at Valiathura and Shanghumughom, battered by relentless waves and heavy rain, every little help counts.
A food kit may not make up for the loss suffered by them this monsoon, but when packed with love from the student community, it will go some way in relieving their misery.
More than 5,000 students of Holy Angels’ Convent Higher Secondary School at Vanchiyoor in the city plan to reach out to the families in distress in these areas. Each student will bring a food kit that will contain essential items such as rice and cereals.
The school has already set an example with the One Student, One Rupee programme, under which each student contributed Re.1 towards the Prime Minister’s relief fund for the Uttarakhand flood victims.
