Dharmapuri, July 1, 2013: Two persons were arrested in connection with obscene dance performed by a group of dancers during the temple festival near Harur in the district on June 26 night, said Superintendent of Police Asra Garg here on Sunday. He told The Hindu that a dance troupe hired by the festival organisers at the Mariamman Temple in Muthanur village, near Harur, staged obscene dance. The entire programme was videographed by the police and action was initiated against the organisers. Though the district police refused to give permission for the programme, the organisers were said to have obtained permission from the Madras High Court.
