Leamington Hindu Temple Fete
Leamington (U.K.), June 30, 2013: Visitors to the Shree Krishna Mandir fete in Leamington’s Old Town last Sunday were treated to demonstrations of young martial artists in the Leamington-based Wing Chan International Kung Fu School.
The event, held at the Hindu Temple car park off High Street, also included singing by children Aarush and Priyanshir Agarwal and performances on the tabla (Indian drum) by ten-year-old Sehej Khatkar.
The afternoon also included face painting, food and drink, ice cream, stalls, a bouncy castle, games and prizes for young performers. Members of the mandir’s committee were at hand to show people around the temple, which is always open to newcomers, regardless of faith, every day from 6am to noon and from 4pm to 7pm.
Proceeds from Sunday’s fete will go towards the temple’s community centre, at which events and free yoga classes are held every day. To find out more, call 452247.
