T.N. BJP State Prez. Campaigns to Mobilise Funds for the Uttarakhand Flood Vics.
Nagercoil, June 29, 2013: State president of Bharatiya Janata Party Pon.Radhakrishnan on Friday inaugurated a one-day campaign to mobilise funds from the public in Nagercoil for relief works at Uttarakhand.
Later speaking to presspersons, he said as Friday was a holiday for business centres in Nagercoil, particularly Kottar, the campaign would continue on Saturday as well. Moreover, former MPs and MLAs had also volunteered to contribute their one-month pension to help the people affected by flood and landslide in Uttarakhand.
The Government should provide educational assistance to poor Hindu students.
Agitation
An agitation had been planned in Nagercoil on July 28 to press for this demand, Mr.Pon. Radhakrishnan noted.
District BJP president Dharmaraj, chairperson of Nagercoil municipality Meena Dev, Nagercoil town party president Raghavan, district party vice-president Dev, general secretaries Ramesh and Chokkalingam participated in the campaign.
