Hassan District Does Its Bit in Rescue Op.
Hassan, June 29, 2013: Hassan district has a unique connection with the rescue operations in flood-hit Uttarakhand as government officials from the district and those who had worked here earlier are involved in it.
Soon after the reports of floods came in, the State government sent a team of officials led by Naveen Raj Singh, Commissioner of Social Welfare to Uttarakhand. He was Deputy Commissioner here earlier. Kari Gowda, Deputy Director of Mines and Geology, is another prominent member in the team. Mr. Gowda was Assistant Commissioner of Hassan sub-division, when Mr. Singh was the Deputy Commissioner here.
Varaprasada Reddy, Special Officer of Sakaala Mission, who was earlier tahsildar of Channarayapatna taluk; H.L. Manjunath, tahsildar of Maddur, who earlier worked with Mr. Naveen Raj Singh as tahsildar of Holenarsipur; and N.V. Natesh, Superintendent in the office of Deputy Commissioner, too are part of the team.
According to sources, these officials have been posted in camp offices set up at Hrishikesh, Haridwar and Dehradun.
