Elaborate Preperations for Panchalinga Darshan Under Way
Mysore, June 29, 2013: The district administration has stepped up its preparations for the Panchalinga Darshan to be held at Talakad in T. Narsipura from December 2, 2013 and expect more than 3.5 million pilgrims during the event.
At a review meeting held in the city on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Ramegowda instructed officials to lay emphasis on providing civic amenities, including drinking water. The PWD has been instructed to take up temporary barricading, creating a makeshift helipad, renovation of the ancient temples and improvement of all the roads connecting Talakad to the rest of the district and the State. The engineering wing of the Panchayati Raj Department has been instructed to improve 35-km road under its jurisdiction and create drinking water facility at 10 places. Similarly, instructions have been given for the upkeep of drainage and creation of temporary and permanent toilets for men and women.
