State and Travancore Devaswom Board Pitch in to Clean Temple Pond
Thiruvanathapuram, June 28, 2013: The pond of the Sree Janardhana Swamy temple in Varkala will be cleaned and renovated at a cost of Rs.50 lakh. The decision comes close on the heels of three students drowning in the pond on Monday.
Expenses
The State government will provide Rs.20 lakh and Rs.10 lakh will be utilised from the local area development fund of the legislator.
The Travancore Devaswom Board, which manages the temple, will bear the rest of the renovation cost.
