ITBP Issues Sat-Phones to Pilgrims
New Delhi, June 26, 2013: Even as more than 6,000 pilgrims are still stranded in different parts of flood-hit Uttarakhand, 25 more satellite phones are being supplied to them to allow them to communicate with their family.
“We have arranged for 25 more satellite phones to allow more and more people to communicate with their family. The phones will be procured from Indo-Tibetan Border Police headquarters in Delhi on Wednesday and reach Uttarakhand by noon. Thirty satellite phones have already been supplied to the pilgrims,” said Mr. Pandey.
