Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, he said although he was not sure to what extent his experiment would succeed, he hoped that in the coming years he would find treatment for cancer in music.
“It has been widely believed that music has the inherent capacity to heal several ailments. I am trying to make this a reality,” Pandit Gudi said. He claimed that he had already found a few basic ragas that could relieve headache.
Regretting that Hindustani classical music was not being accepted by the youth, Pt. Gudi said that his academy was making efforts to popularise traditional music. “Even though some of them show interest in classical music, they do not devote enough time because of other priorities,” he said.
Pt. Gudi said regular concerts should be organised to help popularise classical music. He also said he was ready to provide free training for poor students.
