BJP Raises Money in Hubli for the Flood Victims of Uttarakhand

Hubli, June 26, 2013: Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took to the streets on Tuesday, appealing to the public to contribute generously for the relief of people in Uttarakhand.

Led by State BJP president Pralhad Joshi, members visited several areas in the city asking for donations. The activists visited shops and households in Durgadbail, Maratha Galli, Broadway, Butter Market, Mahatma Gandhi Market, Sheelavantara Oni and Javali Sal.

BJP leaders Mahesh Tenginakai, Nagaraj Kalburgi, Satish Shejwadkar, D.K. Chavan and Shivu Menasinakai took part in the fund raising programme.

BJP Hubli-Dharwad unit president Mahesh Tenginakai said that Rs. 70,500 was collected from shopkeepers, vendors and residents.

Later in the evening, workers led by MLA Aravind Bellad and former MLA Seema Masuti conducted a similar programme on Subhash Road and adjoining areas.

Mr. Tenginakai said that they would be approaching industries and organisations for funds soon.
