A devotee of Lord Venkateswara, who had earlier donated a windmill that cari generate a inega watt of power to Tirumala , Tirupati 'Devasthanams, had once again came forward to donate a 1,5 mega watt windmill.

The chairman of Enercon-India Limited is all set to donate a giant windmill costing about Rs 4.5 crore and had written to the TTD seeking its permission to donate the windmill.

Though the donor wrote for an approval to hand over the giant three-arm fan, which would be mounted on a high mast, on May 3 this year, a decision is still awaited from the TTD officials.

The file is said to be making rounds from one wing to another in the TTD.

According to sources, the Enercon-India had approached the TTD only after making proper verifications from the Central government agencies on wind velocity at the proposed Pasupigutta site, for installing the windmill, adjacent to the GNC-toll gate where NEDCAP also has tjny windmill.

"Only one arm of'the windmill is likely to take three days to reach Tirumala and the entire transportation cost might involve more than Rs 20 lakh.

The Enercon-India is ready to bear the transportation cost also," officials said.

The Enercon-India had earlier installed a small windmill on Tirumala and it is functioning perfectly even after a decade of its installation.

The Enercon-India chairman himself monitors the functioning of the wind mill installed on the hill top officials said.

The Enercon had also decided to maintain the windmill on a permanent basis and the power produced will be attached to the TTD's 132 kv sub-station.
