Eruvaka Pournami
Eruvaka Purnima is a festival celebrated by farmers of Andhra Pradesh. Eruvaka Purnima also spelled as Eruvaka pournami, Eruvaka punnami and Eruvaka poornima. Eruvaka means Toli nagati cahlu (First line with a plough for the season).
Eruvaka - is also known as Time of sowing seeds. Eruvaka Derived from Eru (river) / Vaagu (canals in farming fields) at the start of the rainy season.
Eruvaka Purnima falls either in May or in the early part of the June (i.e on Jyesta Purnima) when farmers decorate their cattle, plough and other farming instruments, sow samples of seed called "Navadhanya" and pray for good harvest.
In 2013, Eruvaka purnima fell on June 23.
