VHP Institutes a Yagna for Ram Temple in Ayodhya
Ongole, June 24, 2013: A yagna was conducted by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad here on Sunday to realise their long-cherished goal a grand temple for Lord Ram at Ayodhya.
Vedic priests led by Parankusa Keshavacharyulu performed elaborate rituals.
A stone relic from Ramasethu stood as highlight at the religious event. Devotees chanted Sriram, Jayaram, Jayajaya rama ram in unison.
Leading the collective prayer meeting at the Chennakeshavaswamy temple, VHP Prakasam district vice-president J. Venkateswarulu said the yagna was organised in keeping with the resolution adopted at the recent Dharma Sansad at Sants Sammelan at Kumbh Mela.
Members of the Bhajan mandali here and other places in the district chanted 13 crore Ramanamajapa.
Swamy Satyanandana of the Chinmaya Mission and Vignanandra Saraswathi Mathajee of Lalithashram here led the devotees recited verses from Upanishad to pay homage to the pilgrims who lost their lives in Uttarakhand.
