Adilabad Dancers to Partake in ‘Archana’
Adilabad, June 24, 2013: The Vibhavari Natya Academy, Adilabad, will participate in Archana, a dance performance in Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam by disciples of well-known Kuchipudi exponent and founder director of Lasya Priya Academy of Indian Dances and Centre for Higher Learning and Research, Hyderabad, Dr. K. Uma Rama Rao, at NTR auditorium in Hyderabad on June 29.
Vibhavari Academy founder and Bharatnatyam teacher Madhavi Ramanujam will participate with her disciples from Adilabad -- S. Divya, B. Deepti, P. Anusha, K. Tajaswini and K. Soumaya from Mumbai.
Ms. Ramanujam has been teaching Bharatnatyam in Adilabad since about a decade and her disciples have performed at almost all levels. Vibhavari Natya Academy students will be led by Ms. Ramanujam in presenting the dance- Srimannarayana Tatvam Acharya Avataram.
Talking to The Hindu on Sunday, she expressed her gratitude to her teacher, Dr. Uma Rama Rao, for providing her the opportunity.
