Kancheepuram Mutt Donates Rs. 20 Lakhs for Uttarakhand Relief Activities
Kancheepuram, June 23, 2013: The Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam has donated Rs. 20 lakhs to the flood relief operations carried out jointly by the Uttarkhand State and Union governments.
Kanchi Kamakoti Peetathipathi Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal said that apart from donating money to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the conduct of relief operations in flood-affected areas such as Kedarnath, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayaag and other areas, the Kanchi Sankara Mutt would send food grains, clothes and other material to the affected people.
The first batch of relief material will be dispatched by next week.
Those wishing to contribute to the cause can deposit the relief materials / contributions at Kanchi Sankara Mutt branches in Chennai and other cities.
