All Set For Appalayagunta Brahmotsavams

Tirupati , June 16:

The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) has made elaborate arrangements for one of the important ancient temples under its purview, Lord Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple at Appalayagunta about 25km from Tirupati for annual brahmotsavams which are scheduled to take place from June 18 to June 26.

Addressing media persons in the temple premises, the TTD EO Sri LV Subramanyam on Sunday said, that this temple is a unique one with Lord Venkateswara in "Abhaya Hasta"(Blessing Hand) posture.

"Therefore it becomes significant for the pilgrims who believe that the Lord directly blesses them and fulfil their wishes with his Abhaya Hasta", he added.

"As per the temple legend, Lord on the wish of Sidheshwara Yogi settled here with his consort to bless the devotees", he said.

The EO also said, that on Garuda Seva Day which falls on 22nd of June, the processional deity will be adored with the Sahasranama Lakshmi Haram (which is usually decorated to Lord Malayappa Swamy at Tirumala during Garuda Seva) brought from Tirumala temple.

There is no compromise on the arrangements and the brahmotsavams will be performed on lines of Tirumala.

I therefore, request the locals and denizens from surrounding places to pave visit to the temple and get the blessings of Lord.

We have also negotiated with APSRTC and will be running additional buses to this place during brahmotsavams for the sake of the pilgrims", he maintained.

He said five spiritual books will be released in front of each vahanam during brahmotsavams.

Later reviewing with various department heads of TTD, he asked the officials not to compromise on arrangement.

TTD Tirupati JEO Sri P Venkatrami Reddy, CVSO Sri GVG Ashok Kumar, CE Sri Chandrasekhar Reddy, DyEO (Sri PAT) Sri Bhaskar Reddy, Services DyEO Sri Siva Reddy, SE Sri Ramachandra Reddy and other officials were also present.
