Godman Denied Bail by New Delhi High Court
NEW DELHI: Self styled godman, Swami Raghuvansh Puri’s anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the Delhi High Court on Tuesday. The swami was allegedly accused of molesting and attempting to rape a married woman in March.
Dismissing Swami Raghuvansh Puri's anticipatory bail plea, Justice Manmohan Singh said the allegations are "serious" in nature and the investigation is at the initial stage for which his "custodial interrogation is required."
"If the allegations are proved, then it is a serious matter. Swami RaghuvanshPuri is not available at the Delhi and Haridwar addresses. He is not joining the investigation. No doubt, the matter is under investigation
which is yet to be completed," Justice Singh pointed out, relying on the police status report.
