With Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government coming into power, the 400 Indian Sikh pilgrims who arrived in Pakistan, to observe the 407th death anniversary of Guru Arjun Dev, hoped for the ties between the two neighbouring nations to get better.

Foolproof security arrangements besides immigration, customs, bank and medical facilities were made at the Wagah railway station by the Pakistan government to facilitate the pilgrims.

Officials of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) and the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee received them warmly at the Wagah railway station.

Talking to media, group leader Sardar Rampal Singh Bhaniwal hoped better bilateral relations between Pakistan and India after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's government came in power would improve. 

The arrangements by the ETPB to facilitate the Sikh pilgrims in Pakistan were also appreciated by him.

Soon after arrival, the Sikh pilgrims left for Nankana Sahib where they would stay for two days and perform religious rituals. Then they will leave for Sucha Sauda, Farooqabad, on June 10 and return to Nankana Sahib on the same day. 

On June 11, the Sikh pilgrims will leave for Punja Sahib Hassanabad and stay there for three days to perform religious rituals. 

On June 13, they will come to Gurdwara Dera Sahib here. 

On June 15, they will visit Aimanabad and Kirtarpur and return to Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Lahore, on the same day. 

During their stay in Gurdwara Dera Sahib, the pilgrims will perform religious ceremonies. They will return to India on June 17.
