On the occasion of Shanichari Amavasya, temple priest, Pandit Chaurasia said, “for peace from the effects of Saturn (Shani) it is advised that people read the Sundarakaand, Hanuman Chalisa, Bajrang Baan or Hanuman Ashtak. And for the people who have an ongoing Shani Mahadasha, it is advised that they do not partake in meat and alcohol and also not bear any false witness in courts or it may incur the wrath of Shani (Saturn).”
