Visakhapatnam: The founder of the Sri Ramanuja Peetham, Sri Tridandi Sriranga Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami is organizing a nine day long ‘Vishnu Yagam’ which include programmes like ‘Vishnu sahasranama parayanam’, ‘veda parayanam’, ‘abhishekam’, ‘ashtakshari mantra havanam’, ‘kalyana mahotsavam’ and distribution of prasadam, among others.

Speaking at a conference here on Friday, the seer said that the invitation was open for the devotees from June 10. “The intention of conducting such mass devotional activities is to enhance the importance of spiritual values and help people seek social harmony. The main objective is to draw maximum participation and help people understand the benefits of spirituality. Through mass recital of mantras and yagams, one can achieve devotional bliss,” he explained.

Similar yagams like Lakshmi yagam, Narayana yagam were performed in 1995 and 1997 by the peetham. Another devotional event Lakshmi Narayana Kratuvu was also conducted in 2003 along with eight Jeeyar Swamis for world peace.

The Peetham has been conducting several spiritual programmes, charity works such as offering meals to the devotees apart from facilitating scholarships to meritorious students.

Sri Vishnu Yagam begins from June 10 at AMCOSA Hall. Interested devotees can participate in the events either between 9 a.m. and 12 noon or from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
