CHAR DHAM YATRA CLAIMS TWO MORE LIVES
Gopeshwar: The char dham yatra claims two more lives. Two elderly women pilgrims’ hearts gave out enroute the famous high altitude Himalayan shrines of Uttarakhand.
63-year-old Kotpally Saraswathi from Andhra Pradesh died at Badrinath and 60-year-old Prakash Kaur from Punjab died at Ghangharia near Hemkund Sahib in the district.
The police said the cause of death for the both of them was cardiac arrest which often occurs for elderly people while visiting these shrines located at high altitudes.
With these deaths, the toll following the start of the char dham yatra last month has risen to seven.
