Kanaka Durga temple services to go online
At the click of a mouse, devotees can make payments for ‘sevas’ at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam. The temple authorities are contemplating implementing online services shortly. The project will be a joint venture of Devasthanam, A.P. Online and the TCS.
The Devasthanam will enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with them shortly. When contacted, temple Executive Officer K. Prabhakara Srinivas said that there was an immense response from the devotees to a trial run. More than 10,000 centres of A.P. Online would be used to bring the online services at the door steps of devotees. The devotees can use the services offered throughwww.durgamma.com.
The temple/Indrakeeladri history, sevas, gallery, alankaras, archana and pooja are some of the features that are available on the website to be launched officially soon, he said. The temple history was made available in both English and Telugu for the benefit of devotees.
The people can make donations for the temple and also book for the archanas and poojas like Santhi Kalyanam, Sri Chakra navaarchana. Twelve services would be made online, e-Hundi would be another attraction of the website, he explained.
Mr. Srinivas said that the temple had introduced arjita seva, abhishekam, from June 3. The devotees could participate in the Abhishekam seva by paying Rs. 2,116. The temple would provide them a laddu prasadam, sesha vastra and blouse piece after abhishekam seva, he said.
The EO said that they were toying with the idea of increasing the darshan timings by one hour in view of swelling rush. The temple would be closed at 10 p.m. if the plans were fruitful, he added.
