When in Punjab,
say what Punjabis do. So, about the growth of Punjabi industry — having herself debuted in Punjabi cinema with Sirphire (2012) — Monica says, “Every week I get a call to work for some or the other Punjabi film, but now things have changed. I take my own time to choose the right role. Being a Punjabi, it is my duty to contribute to the growth of cinema, irrespective of budget constrains. Thus, a good script matters.”
Revealing her spiritual side, she says, “I’m a great believer, and probably Universal (the music company) sensed that, which is why they approached me to render my voice for a spiritual album — Ek Onkar. I have no formal training in music, but I still believe I did well.”
