Hanuman idols consecrated in two temples

Priests performed yantra and Sri Anjaneya Swamy vigraha pratishta in Sri Abhayanjaneya Swamy temple at Putlampalle and Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy temple in Devunikadapa here, which were recently reconstructed, on Vaisakha Bahula Dasami on Hanuman Jayanti on Monday.

Kalanyasam, jwaladarsanam, kumbhabali, godarsanam, kalasodwasana and kumbhabhishekam were performed with religious fervour and gaiety in the presence of devotees whose chants of Jai Hanuman rented the air.

Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy temple founder-trustees J.K. Narasimha Singh and J.K. Saroja Bai, who reconstructed the temple built by them in the past, were present when archakas led by Brahmanapalli Chandrasekhara Sarma performed yantra and vigraha pratishta.

Hanuman Jayanti was performed with reverence in several temples in Kadapa and other places in the district.

Special poojas and abhishekams were performed by offering betel leaves to Sri Anjaneya Swamy on Sri Rajarajeswari Devi temple near the municipal stadium here by the temple’s chief priest Indrakanti Raghunatha Sarma and priest Vedantham Sekhar Bhattar.

Special pooja was performed at Sri Galidevara Anjaneya Swamy temple near Kadapa old bus stand. Poor feeding was organised by the temple committee members.

A large number of devotees thronged the historic Sri Prasannanjaneya Swamy temple at Gandi in Chakrayapet mandal in the district and Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple at Vontimitta and offered prayers.
