New Hindu Temple in Bloomington almost Complete
April 22, 2014: BLOOMINGTON- Those who practice Hinduism will soon have a new place to worship in the Twin cities.
Hundreds of volunteers have spent countless hours working to make the Hindu temple a reality.
The temple held its grand opening ceremonies this past weekend but it will not officially be open to the public until June.
Some minor construction including tiling still needs to be completed.
The facility has classrooms, library, kitchen and a stage.
The former temple president says it's nice for the Hindu community to finally have a place to call their own.
"We just opened not knowing how many people would show up. The temple was full all day long for three days. And people felt at home so we know we did the right thing," said Ramesh Chaudhari, Former Hindu Temple President.
This is the first Hindu temple in the Twin cities that is open to all denominations of Hinduism.
