Worldwide euphoric celebrations of Sri Rama Navami
April 13, 2014: Ram Navami (also known as RamNomi) is an auspicious Hindu festival to celebrate Lord Shri Rama’s birth and his marriage to Sita. Ram Navami is celebrated on April 8th this year (2014) and falls on the last day of Navratri and is the ninth day of the Hindu calendar.

RamNavami is followed by Hindus all around the world and in all corners of India. Shri Ram Bhagwan is one of the most followed and respected deities in Hinduism, as well as being the 7th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Lord Rama’s life is highlighted in the famous story of Ramayana.
During Ram Navami, many Hindus and Shri Ram devotees fast or restrict themselves to a specific diet in accordance to VedaDharma as a sign of respect, discipline and self-sacrifice.
Along with Shri Rama, devotees also pray and request blessings from Shri Ram’s wife Sita; Shri Ram’s brother Lakshman, and Shri Ram’s selfless devotee and friend Lord Hanuman.
Lord Ram was born in the western Uttar Pradesh city of Ayodhya. Lord Shri Ram is referred as Maryada Purushottama, literally the Perfect Man or Lord of Self-Control or Lord of Virtue.
