The TTD officials promise to help to renovate ‘Ramalayam’ in Dalitwada

The programme held under the aegis of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for the propagation of the ‘Hindu dharma’ at a Dalit Colony in Burayagudem under Eluru rural mandal of West Godavari district has transcended the social barriers.

Annamacharya and Ramadasa keerthanas were rendered by B.K. Bindu. Gopalan and Manohar lent support on violin and table respectively. S. Bharati Bhagavatarini rendered a ‘Harikatha’ on ‘Sri Rama Charitam.’ The two-hour programme laced with spiritual discourses and cultural programmes held people from Dalitwada spellbound all through. Disruption of power supply when the programme was half way through failed to be a dampener.

The programme was simple but elegant in so much so that the inhabitants converted a tractor into a dais for the artistes to stage their performances. A philanthropist donated hand fans to all the residents to let them all feel relieved of summer heat at the time of power cuts. When some residents complained that the `Ramalayam’ built in their locality was in a bad condition, the TTD officials promised to help renovate the temple.

The TTD has decided to take the `Hindu dharma’ to the doorsteps of the marginalised sections with an inclusive approach by organising spiritual programmes in the Dalitwadas every month.
