Albany Telugu Association celebrated Ugadi Uthsavalu
New York April 08, 2014: The Albany Telugu Association celebrated Ugadi Uthsavalu(Telugu New Year celebrations) at Colonie Central High School, Colonie, NY, on April 5th,which turned out to be a grand success. The event was attended by about 1000 people which started at 2.00P.M.with the distribution of Ugadi Pachadi, followed by Panchanga Sravanam and "Maa Telugu Talli" prayer song. Kids of various ages within the tricity area, performed classical, semiclassical, filmy dances and instrumental music.
The audience were later entertained with melodious songs by popular Telugu playback singers Kousalya and Prudhvichandra and mimicry and comedy show by popular Tollywood comedian and actor Siva Reddy.
The Albany Telugu Association President Mr.Srinivas Nadella and Albany Telugu Association board members felicitated the Chief Guest Mr.Mohan Nannapaneni, President of TANA. Mr. Mohan Nannapaneni, spoke about how TANA is helping the Telugu community in US and preserving the culture and the Telugu language. The board members felicitated the Tollywood actor Mr. Siva Reddy, Mrs. Kousalya and Mr. Prudhvi Chandra.
The Albany Telugu Association Secretary Mr.Purna Ilipilla delivered the vote of thanks and thanked all the people by naming them who played a major role in the success of the event.
