PURUSAVARI TOTOTSAVAM ON MARCH 16
Tirumala March 11, 2014: The annual Purusaivari Tototsavam will be observed in Tirumala on March 16 in connection with the day Sri Anantazhwan, one of the ardent Srivaishnava devotees of Lord Venkateswara, who ascended to Paramapadam.
Sri Anantazhwan (1053 AD) dedicated 102 years in the service of Lord Venkateswara through pushpa kainkaryam. To mark the contributions of this Acharyan, Purusaivari Tototsavam is performed every year in Tirumala.
The processional deities of Sri Malayappa Swamy accompanied by his two Consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi will be taken on a procession to Anantalwan Gardens. After reaching Vrindavan of Sri Anantazhwan, Astanam was performed to the processional deities. Later, the special garlands of Lord Malayappa were decorated to a tree representing Sri Anantazhwan.
