ANNUAL SURYAPOOJA FESTIVAL OF SRI VEDANARAYANASWAMY TEMPLE

Nagalapuram March 06, 2014: Annual Surya Pooja Mahotsavam and Teppotsavam festivals  of the Sri Vedanarayanaswami and his consort Vedavalli at Nagalapuram will be  held from March 24-28.

The festival will also mark the ocassion of the direct sun rays falling on the idol of Mula Virat in the temple, 360 feet away from the Rajagopuram. It is reported that Sun rays will fall at the Idols feet on Day-1, touch the navel on Day-2 and the Crowned head on Day-3 and add spelndour to the divinity of the  Vedanarayanaswamy mural virat.

During the five day event Snapana Thirumanjanam is performed every day to the Utsava idols of Sri Vedanarayana and Vedavalli in the morning. All devotees are provided the darshan of Surya Pooja from 5.30pm to  6.30 pm every day during the festival and Tiruvidhi Utsavam from  6.30 PM to  8 PM. Teppotsavam will be conducted  every day from  6.30 PM to 7.30 PM from march  26 to 28th.

The holy divinity will give darshan to all devotees  and bless them in the form of Sri Kodandaramaswami along with consort Sita on first day, on Muthyapupandiri Vahanam on Day-2 and on Shesha Vahanam in the Tiruvidhi  Utsavam processions.
