A glimpse of our Hindu Temples: Today’s temple round-up: BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Philadelphia

Mandir, Philadelphia  February 19, 2014: Pramukh Swami Maharaj quoted “In the joy of others lies our own.” And the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha truly believes in it. It’s a spiritual, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to improving society through individual growth by fostering the Hindu ideals of faith, unity, and selfless service.

A Hindu priniciples believing organization provides spiritual and social services for individuals throughout the world. It strives to promote peace, education, health and well-being in addition to celebrating Hindu culture and traditions.

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is located at 1561 Woodbourne Rd, Levittown, PA 19057. The directions if you are coming from South Jersey : Start towards Burlington- Bristol Bridge: After Bridge go straight. 
Turn LEFT at the T-intersection. Go under the bridge, pass the traffic light for RT 13 and go straight on Route 413 North. Follow sign for I-95 North. Take exit 44 for Business US-1/413. At the traffic light turn RIGHT if coming from Philadelphia OR LEFT if coming from NJ onto Old Lincoln Hwy. Pass K-Mart on your right. Pass Reedman (car dealer) on your left. Turn RIGHT on next traffic light onto Woodbourne Rd. Pass three traffic lights. Drive about ¼ mile. The Temple is on your left.

Bal Sabha, Balika Sabha, Kishore Sabha, Kishori Sabha, Yuvak Sabha, Yuvati Sabha, Mahila Sabha, Satsang Sabha, Bal & Balika Gujarati Classes are the weekly activities which take place at Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. Makar Sankranti, Vasant Panchami, Holi, Ram Navmi, Yogi Jayanti, Guru Purnima, Janmashtami, Jal Jhilani, Sharad Purnima and Diwali – Annakut are some of the annual events which are conducted at Shri Swaminarayan Mandir.

The temple visiting timings are: 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM on weekdays. Its 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM on weekends.
