A glimpse of our Hindu Temples: Today’s temple round-up: Shiva Vishnu Temple, Liver more, CA

Liver more, CA  February 15, 2014: Vamana Purana states that “Whoever constructs or helps to construct a Vishnu temple will protect eight generations of fathers, grandfathers and forefathers from falling into Hell.” The Shiva Vishnu Temple at Livermore CA believes in this stance. A perfect example of a holy serene structure. The Temple personifies the magnificence and splendor of temples in India. It is one of the biggest temples in the Bay Area.

The temple is located at 1232 Arrowhead Ave (at Goldenrod Dr) Livermore, CA 94551. When you are driving from I-580 in Livermore, you take an exit to N Vasco Road driving on taking a left on Scenic Ave and again Left on Arrowhead Avenue leading to 1232 Arrowhead Avenue. The Temple is on your right. As you enter, you will see a lineup of diverse popular deities including Durga, Aiyappa, Ganesha, Shiva, Vishnu, Ram, Lakshman Sita, Subramanya, Navagrahas, Bhoodevi/Parvathi and Lakshmi. After paying prayers to all the gods, you can complete your darshan by sitting down in the large hall facing the deities

The temple has been built keeping in mind the pure, authentic stipulations in the best of North and South Indian traditions. In 1977 HCCC – Hindu Community Cultural Centre was incorporated. From 1980 – 86 land was acquired in Livermore, Tamil Nadu Govt donated idols and interim temple was constructed. By 1986 construction was finished and the foundation stone was laid by Shri N T Rama Rao.

The temple celebrated Kumbhabhishekam (Consecration) in 1986, followed by Mahakumbhabhishekam (12th anniversary) in 1998. All the special occasions like Rama Navami , Siva Ratri, Vishu Celebrations , haridasa Aradhana , Anamacharya Jayanti etc are celebrated with great pomp and grandeur. Homas, Abhishekas, Archanas, etc are the rituals performed in this temple.

 

The daily rituals of the temple are everyday at  9 AM  SHIVA Abhisheka is performed and every Tuesday GAKARA GANAPATI Sahasra Nama Archana is performed at 6 pm and every Friday at 10.30 AM Abhisheka and KumKuma Archana of All Goddesses is performed. Every Saturday 9 AM BALAJI Suprabhata, 10 AM Abhisheka, 12:30 PM Archana/Arati Every Sunday:

9 AM SHIVA Suprabhata, 9:15 Abhisheka, 11 AM Archana/Arati

10 AM GANESHA Abhisheka, 11:30 AM Archana/Arati

11:30 AM KARTIKEYA Abhisheka, 12:00 PM Archana/Arati

3 PM Sri SATYANARAYANA SWAMI Vrata

Every 3rd. Sunday: 1:30 PM Discourse on Ramayana Every last Sunday: 1:30 PM Geeta Satsung, 2:30 PM Bhajans, and Arati with JAYA JAGADEESH HARE.

Temple visiting timings are Monday to Thursday 9 am – 12 Noon and 6 pm – 8 pm and on Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Holidays the timings are – 9 am to 8 pm.
