Indianapolis January 30, 2014: The Hindu Temple of Indiana is the first and foremost temple in Indiana. The temple opened in 2006. Regular worship begin after the introduction and honoring of various statues of the deities. The committee and their involvement in religious and spiritual committees is simply astonishing and a learning experience in itself. Mr.SathyanarayanaR.Marri is the Chairman, Mr. Rama Belagaje is the Vice Chairman, Mr.Arun Jain is the Secretary, Mr.VenkatRao is the Treasurer and the other trust members are - Mr.Srinivasan Chandrasekhar, Mr.AtulBhargava, Mr. Ram Bhargava, Mr.PrabhakarKasarabada, Mr.KannanNatarajan ,Mr. Ravi Pattar. The daily Pooja services at the temple are – Sri RudraAbhishekam for Shri Siva at 6:30 PM on every Monday, Sri Hanuman Pooja and Sri Hanuman ChalisaParayanan at 6:30 PM on every Tuesday, Sri Vishnu SahasranamaParayana on every Wednesday at 6:30 PM, SarvaDevataPooja on every Thursday at 6:30 PM , Sri Durga Mata Pooja and Sri LalithaSahasranamaParayana on every Friday at 6:30 PM and Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatham and Sri Vishnu Sahasranamaparayana on every Saturday at 9:00 am. The daily Aarati timings are 11:30 AM and 7:30 PM from Monday to Friday and 12:00 PM and 7:30 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. The most striking feature of the temple is the Maha Prasad Seva – which is a great way of offering seva during weekends. Another interesting fact is a tour to the temple along with a brief introduction to Hinduism is available at the temple on every first Monday of the month at 6:00 PM. The temple is located at 3350 N German Church Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46235. The Temple is situated on the eastside of Indianapolis. The general directions to reach the temple are: Take 70 east to Post Road; North on Post Road to 30th Street; East on 30th Street to German Church Road; North on German Church Road; Temple will be on your left. The temple hours are from 10:00 to 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 Pm from Monday to Friday and the timings on Saturdays and Sundays are from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
