Siva is fond of anointment along with Rudra Parayana .Then only good results come. The Mantra section in Yajurveda comprising 11 anuvakas of ‘Satarudreeya’ is known as Rudram. Rudrabhishekam involves anointment along with chanting of rudram once. It is also known as ‘Ekarudram’. Rudram means combination of Namakam and Chamakam. So according to the method and the number It is called as Avratti,Rudram , Ekadasarudram, Satarudram,Laghurudram, Maharudram and Atirudram. For example if this eleven-time rudram of Anuvakas if chanted for eleven times it is called ‘Ekadasa rudrabhishekam’ or ‘Rudri’. Mahanyasapurvaka Rudrabhishekam means Rudrabhishekam along with Mahanyasam in which the description of the five faces of Lord Shiva will be there.They appear as symbols of five qualities and His form is described accordingly. Thus After visualizing lord shiva in this way Rudrabhishekam is performed to Him with Namakam and Chamakam. Anointing lord Shiva in this manner provide relief from chronic disorders. There will not be any fear of untimely death. All the desires of the performer will be fulfilled. The life span will be prolonged. Defects of evil planets will be removed. Knowledge grows. This anointment is performed with milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar, pure water and fruit juices. Each of these items give specific results
